Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

I'm not trying to be petty and I don't want to be labeled a Bridezilla or anything, but this is bothering me and I need some people outside of the situation to give me their opinion. My brother sprung this on us Sunday evening at our birthdzy gathering. I'm a little pissed about...

My 37-year-old brother and his 25-year old girlfriend (of about six months) are planning to sashay up to my honeymoon destination exactly one month before my wedding to get married.

It's spring break for his kids. He said specifically he tried to schedule it away from my wedding.

Here are the reasons I'm not happy about it:
1. Why can't they wait until summer? It'll only be 2-3 months later and be much more convenient for everyone.
2. Why does it have to be where I am going on my honeymoon?
3. Nobody is going to be able to go or do anything for them really because of my wedding and six months from now he's going to start making comments like "Well, nobody did anything for me when I got married blah blah blah."

Ok, so...???

Had my third epidural this year yesterday. Stayed home again today because I'm really sore. I hate having to take the time off of work, because they're is a ridiculous amount of work to be done at my job, but it'll all be okay. My back sucks. I have one herniated disc, I don't know how my dad works, walks, anything with four. I'm truly not a wimp about pain either.

Wedding plans are going well. We've hired the caterer and picked a menu and hired the dj. I think things are going along very smoothly. Daniel and I are planning on registering soon. I'm working on our website www.danielandhaley.net if you'd like to check it out. Things are going pretty smoothly. I bought my dress weekend before last and am very excited about it. It's gorgeous. My mother cried when she saw me in it. We got a really good deal on it too. The dress shop was selling off all it's sample pieces, so we got my $1200 dress for 50% off. Yay!

Things are pretty good with the family. Lindsey's second pregnancy is progressing well, although she's having some problems with sciatica. Riley turned one year old on the 20th and gets cuter everyday. Chase might actually be home by the end of the month.

Life is busy as usual. Hope everyone else is doing good.

So, everyone has them. What are yours? What are some things that you blow some cash on because it makes you feel good?

Mine are:
Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire magazines. I love them for their fun articles and the fashion sections showing off all the latest handbags which leads me to my next one.
Purses. I'm obsessed with them. Whether Marc Jacobs, Prada, Lucky, or Liz Claiborne. I love them all. I admit to spending $150 on the Lucky Patchwork Handbag. I can't afford the Marc Jacobs or Prada, but I can wish. And I'm pretty good about using my handbags till they fall apart. Number one purse I want: Hermes Birkin Bag in patent red alligator.
Romance Stories Yes, I know. But I do indulge in a good Sandra Brown or Lavyrle Spence. Also, love the Christian romances by Lawana Blackwell, Lisa Tawn Bergren, and Sally Laity. I love to read and I'm currently reading once again my very worn copy of Scarlett by Alexandra Ripley.
Clinique. I love their Take the Day Off Makeup remover and the Rinse Off Foaming facial cleanser. And honestly after price comparing and seeing how long this stuff lasts and how well it does with my skin, it is comparable to spending it on anything Covergirl or whoever else that doesn't work as well for me. I don't generally buy the makeup, but when I purchase the cleansers I always do it during bonus time!

Work. Is BUSY. I barely have time to do anything and I think my boss would chain me to the desk if he could. I literally just sit and stare at my desk sometimes because I don't know what to start on next. I'm sure they love that. To top it all off, one of our customers is auditing everything and I know this is not going to be fun. They sent me a whole bunch of things that are duplicate charges. Luckily, most of them are from invoices the boss did himself! Yay. And the ones that aren't are because we are using a software that is still in development and is a POS when it comes to accounting things. It's ridiculous when you have to create an invoice in one software and then go into QuickBooks and redo so you can keep your books straight.

Everything is pretty good with the family. Did I mention that I moved out? Yeah, I got an apartment with my friend Heidi. Yay.

Wedding stuff is going pretty good. We've got the church, the reception hall, and we're looking at several caterers. D's uncle works for a printer and a florist, so he can get us good deals there. Friend Amanda is a photographer and has offered to do the Wedding photos as a gift! Tracy's (my wedding consultant, church member, and friend) mom does wedding cakes! So, things are looking great so far and I am very happy. Mom and I are going Friday to look at dresses for me. Our colors are indigo blue, white, and accent sage green. The bridesmaids will be in blue and will carry white hydrangeas and I will carry blue ones. Everything is really coming together. When my mother called the reception hall the guy told her they were all booked up for May and then he said oh, wait I think we had a cancellation this morning it's for May 16th.Yeah, we rushed and booked that lol. I am very excited. Now that I've calmed down from freaking out.

Anyway, everything seems to be going very well. Busy between working, working overtime, working some more, wedding plans, church stuff, boyfr...uh, fiancee, family, and all that jazz.

So, last weekend Daniel and I went to Destin, Fl on a mini-vaca. Saturday night on the beach Daniel proposed. Here's a pic of the ring (sorry it's not very good) on top of the Bible he gave me with my future name on it.

Yay! Super excited.

Don't know many details yet. Wedding will be sometime in the spring.

Your Thinking is Abstract and Sequential

You like to do research and collect lots of information.

The more facts you have, the easier it is for you to learn.

You need to figure things out for yourself and consider all possibilities.

You tend to become an expert in the subjects that you study.

It's difficult for you to work with people who know less than you do.

You aren't a very patient teacher, and you don't like convincing people that you're right.

Weekend before last Daniel and I took a weekend getaway (his anniversary present.) He chose Destin, Fl, so when we got off on Friday we met at his apartment, packed up, and then headed out. We met Liz and Pierre at Cock of the Walk in Pensacola for a delicious dinner and free fried pickles (They now offer those to any Mobilians who go there to eat since the two in Mobile closed.) Afterwards we rode on to Destin. We stayed at the Residence Inn on Sandestin Resort. The room was beautiful. On Saturday we went to Big Kahuna's Waterpark for a fun day in the lazy river. That evening we went to the Brazilian Secret Cafe and ate Rodizio style. Muy yummy. Sunday, we did some shopping, went and saw Kaleigh and the baby, took Kaleigh and Christian with us to the Gulfarium (dolphins and other sea life) and then we all went to the Crab Trap to eat. Walked on the beach a bit and took Kaleigh home. We then decided to play hooky from work and stayed another night. Monday we went out on a glass bottom boat and saw dolphins in the wild, lazed around the water, and then sadly headed home. Lots of fun was had. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend. I will post some pictures at some point.

I've gotten really bad about not posting pictures, because the editing software I have sucks. I need to stop being cheap and buy a half decent one. Anyone have any suggestions?

Otherwise things have been good. Lots of work, spending time with D. It's football season again so that means he is working at the radio station and I use this time to post on lj! At least we're spending the time together...well at least in the same room. lol.

I went this week and auditioned for a play called See How They Run. I didn't get a part, but the director has asked me to do the costumes!!! So, I'll be doing costumes and hopefully helping with the stage crew. WOOHOO! I have found my way back to the theater. I am SO EXCITED!!!

Okay, well hugs and stuff to everybody.

What Type of Wine Are You?

You're a Riesling! You're a refreshing white wine. Hailing from Germany, your high acidity balances out your sugars and act as a preservative. In fact the oldest tasted wine was a Riesling from 1540, tasted in 1961 and still in drinkable condition. You're floral and fruity and are perfect for sipping on a summer's day. You're a real sweetie and go well with rich foods.
